The CISO, is responsible for the design, delivery, and maintenance of the information security infrastructure to IT Shared Services opcos world-wide. Working directly with technical, security, and business leaders at the opco and at the Danaher Corporate level ensuring critical systems and assets are protected and secured with a combination of sound policy, technical safeguards, and associate training. The CISO, carries out this work through the leadership of a globe-spanning group of network and infrastructure technologists. Key responsibilities include, but not limited to

 

Responsibilities:

The CISO will be responsible for:

mentoring, developing, and building a highly competent team focused on delivering a secure and compliant environment. Its critical to be able to build partnerships between the information security team and line-of-business executives, corporate compliance, audit, legal, and HR management teams to ensure alignment.
Additionally, the IT Director will develop an information security vision and strategy aligned with the Danaher Infosec Policies and Standard to facilitate business objectives and ensures senior stakeholder buy-in.
This role will have to develop, implement, and monitor a strategic, comprehensive information security program to ensure appropriate levels of confidentiality, integrity, availability, safety, privacy, and recovery of information assets.
Continuously assessing engagements between teams and business users for improvement opportunities is another critical responsibility. This may include better practice requirements gathering, administration of formal discovery sessions, establishing RACI matrices, and alignment to proper intake processes.
Evaluate complex IT service and process problems, administer trial and error efforts, rally a team, and provide accurate and honest assessments.
Mobilize necessary resources to resolve or redesign issues and will be an effective delegator, ensuring technical and business peers/subordinates are positioned to succeed.
Participation in and contribution to a monthly review of IT performance metrics to gauge organizational effectiveness and identify areas for improvement will also be key to this role.
The CISO will work closely with

Leica infrastructure, applications, PMO, and governance teams to ensure alignment and flawless execution of systems objectives in support of the business.
Global Director, IT Security will develop the structure of projects and programs, including associated justification and ROI analysis, IT resource capacity planning, business organizational support, and schedule expectations.
This role will lead teams through discovery processes to identify supportive data points and pitch these investments to leadership for support.
This role will have to effectively manage IT vendor relationships, including SOW builds and approvals for engagements, purchase order processing, and invoice management.
Security direct reports, setting annual performance and development goals, hold team and one-on-one meetings, mentor through challenging situations, align on roadmap purposes, provide timely feedback, and directly assist with difficult problems.
Work location:

While the role is predominantly remote, CISO must be available to travel for projects, annual meetings, critical situations, and trainings.
