Empowering Girls Through Ethical Hacking Workshops
Led by Northumbria University and the Cyber Clinic, in partnership with CyberNorth and Cystel, we’re inviting Key Stage 4 girls (Years 10–11) and AS/A-level college girls to take part in two free Ethical Hacking workshops designed to spark curiosity, confidence and real-world skills in cyber security.
Over two Saturdays (10am – 5pm at Northumbria University), students will learn hands-on techniques in:
- Basic Penetration Testing
- Vulnerability scanning
- Social engineering
- Network attacks
- Open-source intelligence
- Incident response
Each participant will also have the opportunity to take part in a Capture the Flag challenge and earn a Cisco Ethical Hacker certificate – a fantastic addition to any future UCAS or apprenticeship application.
The workshops are delivered by 10 trained undergraduate Cyber Mentors from Northumbria Cyber Clinic alongside industry experts from our business partners, offering students a real taste of university-level learning and cyber careers.
Available Saturday dates:
- 17th & 31st January 2026 (2nd cohort)
- 14th & 28th February 2025 (3rd cohort)
- Optional – 14th March 2025 – Capture the flag (CTF) competition for delegates in the three cohorts
