As businesses embrace digital transformation and cyber threats continue to evolve, business resilience is an absolute necessity. Recognising this, CyberNorth member, Net-Defence, who provide IT support, telephony, and cyber resilience services is pioneering a transformative approach with the launch of Business Resilience as a Service for 2025.
This innovative new offering represents a paradigm shift, moving beyond traditional cyber security to deliver a holistic, customer-centric solution that ensures businesses not only survive but thrive in the face of adversity.
To delve deeper into this exciting new offering and understand its unique value proposition, we sat down with Managing Director Debra Cairns.
Read on as she explains what makes Business Resilience as a Service such a uniquely appealing prospect for businesses of all sizes, from agile start-ups to established organisations.
What does ‘Business Resilience as a Service’ mean, in your own words?
This is a customer-centric package that brings together technology, certifications, and services to deliver prevention, detection, and recovery solutions to ensure your business remains secure, connected, and resilient.
Designed with the customer at its heart, this new service allows each customer to match their needs and risk appetite to a bespoke package. This provides an all-in-one approach; one fixed monthly cost, one service provider delivering seamless support.
How do you ensure the services in these packages are flexible enough to meet the needs of different businesses, from start-ups to larger organisations?
By splitting this service into two parts, core and supplementary services, it allows the package to be built in an agile way. This not only allows the package to grow with your business but also adapts with the risk profile of each customer.
This structure ensures that fundamental security and operational needs are met through the core services, while the supplementary options provide the ability to scale and customise the package as a business evolves and its risk landscape changes.
Start-ups can begin with essential protections and gradually add more sophisticated services, whereas larger companies can tailor their package to address complex, multi-faceted security requirements, all within the same framework.
Can you provide an example of how a business might use your core and supplementary services in tandem with each other?
Businesses can select which services they feel suit their needs, mixing core and supplementary options to create the perfect package. The services on offer have been carefully categorised for two reasons.
Firstly, as, and when your business needs to expand its services, for example if you feel your risk has increased based on the data you hold or services you provide, Cyber Assurance (an additional certification) or Security Operations Centre (increased real-time monitoring) can be added to the package. These supplementary services complement the core services a business has in place, offering an extra layer of protection and support from our team.
Secondly, when services for which you use an incumbent provider come up for renewal, such as telephony or mobiles, you can move these services into your business resilience package. By doing so businesses can streamline the services they use to remain resilient, using one provider for all and this allows the package to be as flexible and as agile as the customer needs.
Can you explain how your pricing system works, especially for small businesses, and why it’s important to offer no upfront capital costs?
Upfront capital expenditure associated with any purchase can be difficult to absorb. By eliminating this we hope to enable all businesses to be as safe and secure as possible.
We have worked to remove hidden costs and make pricing as clear as possible to allow businesses to weigh up their options and make informed buying decisions.
Once the package has been agreed, this is then delivered on a fixed monthly price over the agreed term, eliminating nasty surprises.
What’s the one thing you are most excited about for the future of this service as a key pillar of Net-Defence’s offering?
I am truly excited to be able to provide a transparent and flexible service to enable our customers with streamlined support, reduce their risk and save money, only purchasing what they truly need with no compromise on security or business operations.
This approach signals a move away from the ‘one-size-fits-all’ model, allowing businesses to optimise their investments in security and resilience.
By focusing on clarity and adaptability, we are empowering our clients to navigate the complexities of modern business with greater confidence, knowing they have a tailored solution that evolves alongside their needs.
Ultimately, why should clients bother with Business Resilience as a Service?
In a world where your ability to operate is entirely dependent on IT and telecoms infrastructure, can any business afford to get this wrong?
Not only will this provide you with peace of mind that your business is secure and protected but it will also demonstrate to your customers that you take security seriously.
Data breaches and operational disruptions can have devastating consequences and Business Resilience as a Service offers a proactive approach to safeguarding your business.
