Cyber Trade Mission to Ottawa, 27 – 30 January 2025
The British High Commission to Canada, in association with UK Defence and Security Exports (UKDSE), invites you to join a trade mission to meet and engage with Government, Defence and CNI stakeholders in Canada’s cyber ecosystem to showcase UK capabilities and expertise and identify potential business opportunities.
In 2023, Canada’s Parliamentary Standing Committee on National Defence released a list of recommendations to reform the countries’ approach to cyber security. Following the release of the report, the Government of Canada has begun reformation of its cybersecurity governance, starting with new cyber standards and certification for industry, new legislation aimed at enhancing the powers of its intelligence and security agencies, and the establishment of a new Canadian Armed Forces Cyber Command in October 2024. These government changes, brought upon due to the increasing sophistication of cyber-attacks, provides an opportunity to enhance the long-standing partnership between Canada and the UK through greater trade and collaboration.
Potential opportunities provided by participation in the mission include:
• Attendance at the C4ISR & Beyond conference in Ottawa offering the opportunity to hear directly from DND and Canadian Primes on the approach Canada is taking to Digital Transformation and cybersecurity (value £240)
• Engagements with a variety of Government of Canada Departments including DND, Public Safety, Communications Security Establishment, Shared Services Canada and Leading Canadian Industry
• Roundtable discussion with Fives Eyes partners
• Networking with key stakeholders including an Official Reception hosted by the Head of Mission
• Pro – active support from UKDSE in market to pursue opportunities in Canada
Application criteria:
• UK companies with innovative and cutting-edge offer, interested in pursuing Canadian opportunities
• Please note that places on the mission are limited

UK companies are expected to cover their own expenses (e.g. flight, accommodation, meals, etc.) unless it is part of the program or stated otherwise.
