The King’s Awards for Enterprise have announced this year’s recipients, marking the 60th anniversary of the programme and celebrating standout achievements from businesses across the UK. Among the North East’s honourees, Forfusion has been recognised with a King’s Award for Promoting Opportunity, highlighting its work empowering veterans as they transition into civilian careers.
The awards, first established in 1965 and conferred since 1966, have now recognised more than 8,000 UK businesses. This year, 186 awards have been issued across the UK. His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenants will present the honours locally to all winners throughout the year, continuing the legacy of the programme.
Forfusion’s recognition centres on its mission to help veterans thrive beyond military life, providing mentorship, skills development and meaningful career pathways. Reflecting on the award, Steven Forrest, chief executive and founder at Forfusion, said:
